Proxmox - Backup & Restore VMs

VMs can be directly backed up from the GUI.

Backup VMs using the CLI

To Create a backup

cd /var/lib/vz/dump
vzdump VM_ID  # (ID Show on GUI Panel)

To Restore a VM Image (x.lzo)

cd /var/lib/vz/dump
qmrestore vzdump-x-x.lzo VM_ID

To Restore a Container

pct restore ID --storage {storage_name} ./x.zst

NOTE: Proxmox Backup Server can also be setup to regularly backup VMs on Remote Storage.
