Networking - DNS - Enforce safe searching - YouTube
Add a CNAME for the following records:
- m.youtube.com
- youtubei.googleapis.com
- youtube.googleapis.com
And point them to:
For Strict Restricted YouTube access add restrict.youtube.com as a CNAME for these domains:
NOTE: You may need to add a www.youtube.com zone and provide an A record override for each of these to 216.239.38.120 (restrict.youtube.com).
NOTE: Using a Hosts file
Add in the below line:
216.239.38.120 www.youtube.com #restrict.youtube.com 216.239.38.120 m.youtube.com #restrict.youtube.com 216.239.38.120 youtubei.googleapis.com #restrict.youtube.com 216.239.38.120 youtube.googleapis.com #restrict.youtube.com 216.239.38.120 www.youtube-nocookie.com #restrict.youtube.com
For Moderate Restricted YouTube access, add restrictmoderate.youtube.com as a CNAME for these domains:
NOTE: You may need to add a www.youtube.com zone and provide an A record override for each of these to 216.239.38.119 (restrictmoderate).
NOTE: Using a Hosts file
Add in the below line:
216.239.38.119 www.youtube.com #restrictmoderate.youtube.com 216.239.38.119 m.youtube.com #restrictmoderate.youtube.com 216.239.38.119 youtubei.googleapis.com #restrictmoderate.youtube.com 216.239.38.119 youtube.googleapis.com #restrictmoderate.youtube.com 216.239.38.119 www.youtube-nocookie.com #restrictmoderate.youtube.com
NOTE: Remember to clear your DNS cache to allow the new rules to work.
